Health Net Doula

Supporting expecting parents has been my passion for a very long time, I just didn’t know that there was an actual title/profession for what I did when I had my first experience supporting a first time mom over 20 years ago. Since then I’ve supported countless friends, family members, friends of friends, and even women I met while living in homeless shelters, during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

For the past year I have been a full time doula. I received my training through “The Birthing People Foundation” and “Bebo Mia”. I am currently working towards my Childbirth Educator certification through “Bebo Mia” as well as receiving continuing through “The Birthing People Foundation”. I aspire to become a IBCLC.

I have a background in healthcare and teaching adult learners. I have supported families of many races and backgrounds over the years, but I have been drawn to the women that look like me and share stories similar to mine. It is important for me to do all that I can to help decrease the mortality rate amongst Black women and babies. Working with this program would allow me to continue doing this work by connecting me with those in need, while also helping me support my own family.
