Hello! My name is Summer, and I’m a proud Filipina born and raised in Los Angeles. I graduated from UCLA in 2022 with a B.S. in Biology and am currently pursuing my Master of Public Health through GWU’s online program with a concentration in Women, Youth, and Child Health. I trained with Doula Trainings International and am in the process of finishing my certification as a full-spectrum doula.
 
My passion for pursuing a career as a doula ignited during college when I became aware of maternal health disparities in the U.S., particularly the alarmingly high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity among BIPOC women. As I delved deeper into my studies, I discovered the significant impact doulas have in improving maternal and child health outcomes, and I knew then that I wanted to contribute to this vital work.
 
As your doula, I’m eager to support and empower you as you navigate your birthing experience. You have all the power in deciding how this experience unfolds, so I am committed to serving as your #1 advocate and providing you with the necessary resources and knowledge that will aid you in making informed decisions about your birthing journey. I hope to help you achieve your ideal birthing experience and will do so by providing compassionate care. It really does “take a village”, so I can’t wait to be a part of your birthing team and support you in your journey to motherhood.
