Intern

HMHBA Intern

Hi! My name is Weenta Yacob, and I am a current third-year undergraduate student at the University of California, Los Angeles. I am majoring in Human Biology and Society and minoring in Global Health. I’ve always been interested in looking at our health and health outcomes through an interdisciplinary lens, and I’ve recognized that social, cultural, political, and economic factors play a role in impacting our health and life course trajectory. My interests in preventive care and health led me to become a maternal and child health pipeline student at UCLA. In the future, I would like to become a healthcare provider and continue working with under-served maternal and child populations in hopes of combating health disparities. As an intern with HMHBA, I will support and assist in the different initiatives and programs this organization puts forth.
